Our Mission
When we were a thriving parish, our parish mission statement was: "We, the families of St. Francis Xavier Church and Sacred Heart Church, join together to form St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish, dedicate ourselves to live God's Word, and let the light of Christ shine through our community. With respect, we accept the unique identity, traditions, and customs of each individual church. We will continually strive to provide sound religious education for people of all ages, a safe environment for all God's children, and care for the spiritual and social well-being of one another, with particular attention to the stranger and the poor in our midst. Now, we have lost our momentum. Our staff has shrunk to one priest and a part-time secretary. In regard to the religious education of our children, we have to work with the neighboring parish in Lancaster, NH, that has more resources. The economic growth in Groveton hardly exists. In a real sense, we are a mission parish within our own diocese. (This is a brief picture of our parish and the financial difficulties we are facing.)

Divine Providence is truly admirable. God has a way of comforting those who depend on Him no matter what happens, I place my trust in Him."
